One of the most interesting findings from the Rewarding Sustainable Practices research programme was the importance of sets of shared values across the value chain. This highlighted the unique challenge that Māori agribusinesses face in developing value chains, whereby they must collaborate with other firms who operate their organisations from a differing worldview.
This presentation approaches the concept of value chains from a te ao Māori perspective. The addition of a framework (whakawhanaungatanga) allows a change in perspective to better understand the role of the individual within a business and the wider network.
This presentation aims to provide new knowledge to Māori agribusiness, increasing the accessibility and relevance of New Zealand-based land-based value chain research.
