Across the whenua which makes up this primary farming operation, there are several areas associated with an archaeological alert area, as well as areas categorised as having high class soils. Similarly on the leased land, there are both types of alerts and classification present on the owned land parcels. A portion of the whenua also borders the Ōtākou Marae that has a heritage classification in recognition of its historical importance and value to the site.

An analysis was undertaken to understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the current farm system and landscape.
